Ghaf Art Gallery, established in 2006,
is Abu Dhabi's first dedicated art
gallery. Owned by a two of unique
individuals who are united in
purpose, the gallery aims to
cultivate the growth and
development of the capital's art
scene by offering exhibiting
opportunities to new, local talent
eager to reach an attentive
audience.

About the owners:

Jalal Luqman
Jalal was educated in the United
States. He graduated with a BA in
Business Administration with a
minor in Graphic Design. Jalal has
experimented with traditional art
forms since he was 4 years old,
and in 1986 he combined his
passion for computers and art to
create a niche for himself in the
digital art realm. He is considered
by many to be the country's
premier digital artist having
exhibited in New York, Tokyo,
Cairo.

Mohamed Abdul Latif Kanoo
A successful businessman, Mohamed,
was educated in the United States
and works for his family business, the
Kanoo Group. He began expressing
His artistic side privately in 1989. He
First displayed publicly as part of the
"Cosmos: A Written Word; Arabic
Calligraphy Through The Ages"
exhibition that took place in late
2004 at the Richard Meier designed
Museum for Applied Arts in Frankfurt,
Germany. He followed this up with his
"Debut in Dubai" in early 2005 and
Has contributed to several notable
auctions for charitable causes.
During 2005 he was chosen by
the German Government and
the Goethe Institute to visit
Germany's contemporary art
museums.

What's in a name?
The desert of the UAE is home to the
Ghaf, a unique tree that is able to
survive in this extreme environment
all the while sustaining and nurturing
life in its shade. We take our
inspiration from the Ghaf tree.
